He has spent his career marketing, selling and delivering new concepts and programmes to different local marketplaces on a global basis that involve the public, private and third party sectors delivering commercial and community benefit to all.

James Maclean
Co-Founder & Investor
Co-Founder and CEO of leading wet civil engineering firm Land & Water Group, which has a 30 year track record of providing a range of civil and environmental solutions to the UK's network of rivers, streams, wetlands and waterways.

The Group's remediation division is building London's largest wetland habitat ever. The contracting and rental businesses hold long term partnership agreements with the Environment Agency, Canal & River Trust and a wide range of Port and Harbour Authorities, NGO's private clients, developers and Tier 1 contractors.

Richard Melhuish

Chairman and Co-Founder of the Land & Water Group, which is a group of companies all centered around water in the environment. It has designed equipment specifically to solve complex engineering challenges, has developed inventive ways to recycle waste products, patented waste treatment technologies and incorporated species-saving solutions into the most sensitive habitats.

Mark Lebus

Chair and CEO of leading UK biomass supply company, LC Energy Limited, Mark has a 13 year history in wood fuel supply and services to the public, private and commercial sectors.

He is Chair of the UK Pellet Council and Director of Bioenergy Europe Board as well as strategic lead on all BNG, carbon credits and sustainability.

Non-Executive Director and Chair of the National Parks Partnerships (NPP) and Catherine plays an active part in the strategic development of the Essex Wildlife Trust in her capacity as a Trustee.

Angus Garbutt
Special Advisor
Angus is the UKCEH Bangor lead for research into projects with a focus on the Land-Sea Interface. His work focuses on field experimentation, long term and national scale monitoring, quantifying the relationships between ecosystem functions and the goods and benefits they provide.
A coastal specialist and expert in saltmarsh ecology, processes and management and the ecology of intertidal mudflats and the relationship between sediments, benthic invertebrates and shore birds.


Dr Christian Dunn
Principal Advisor
Professor at Bangor University, Christian leads the Wetlands Group and is an active researcher and lecturer in wetland science - in particular wetland ecology, peatland biogeochemistry, carbon sequestration and the use of constructed treatment wetlands.
He is also the director of Plastic Research Centre of Wales and has ongoing research projects looking at plastic and microplastics.
Dr Nigel Bending
Special Advisor
Soil scientist and specialist at creating high value ecosystems on landfill sites. Nigel is an advisor to DEFRA and co-author of several key research projects and best practice guidance focused explicitly on land and nature recovery and the development of practical guidance to optimise appropriate nature-based recovery.
